Alda Seaton, age 75, of Marshall, Minnesota, died peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at her home in Marshall. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall, Minnesota. A reception will follow. Private interment will follow later that day in the Russell Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall, Minnesota. A Prayer Service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Visitation will then continue one hour prior to the service, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, also at the funeral home. Occupancy limits and social distancing must be observed throughout all services.
Alda Ann Seaton was born on November 7, 1944, in Marshall, Minnesota, to Durwood and Leona (Oldenburg) Seaton. She grew up near Russell and then outside Balaton as her family farmed. Alda was baptized as an infant and confirmed in her youth and attended school in Balaton and Tracy. She spent time with her family and helped on the farm until her mother’s death in 1981.
Alda then moved into Marshall and became a charter member of the first female HSI shared care home. She worked for many years at Advance Opportunities. She enjoyed group outings for bowling and Bingo. Alda loved animals and could often be found painting or working on a picture puzzle.
Alda Seaton died on June 27, 2020, in Marshall, Minnesota, at the age of 75 years, 7 months, and 20 days. Blessed be her memory.
She is survived by her brother, Merlyn Seaton of Balaton; nephews, Josh Seaton of Cottage Grove, Nick Seaton of Balaton; great-nephews, Taylor Seaton, Maxwell Seaton; other relatives and friends.
Alda is preceded in death by her parents, Durwood and Leona Seaton, and infant sister, Marilyn Mae Seaton.
Alda’s family would like to extend a many heartfelt thank yous to her many caregivers and staff at HSI over the years. The love and care shown to her gave her a wonderful quality of life.
