Alice M. Louwagie

Marshall: Alice M. Louwagie, age 83, of Marshall and Green Valley, passed away at her residence on Monday, March 25, 2013. Mass of Christian will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 28th at Holy Redeemer Catholic. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a 4:00 P.M. rosary service and 7:00 P.M. prayer service Wednesday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday, one prior to the service.
Alice was born November 5, 1929 to Henry and Marie (DeWilde) Noyes in Ghent. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Ghent.
On November 10, 1948, Alice was united in marriage to Leon Louwagie at St. Eloi. The couple farmed near Marshall. Alice was a wonderful mother and housewife. Alice and Leon retired in 1988 and moved to Marshall. Alice passed away at her residence on Monday, March 25, 2013. She had reached the age of 83 years, 4 months and 20 days.
Alice is survived by her seven children, Duane (Bernie) Louwagie of Marshall, Ron (Yvonne) Louwagie, of Cottonwood, Joyce (Francis) Laleman, of Minneota, Jean (Terry) Gordon, of Russell, Allan (Deb) Louwagie and Brenda Louwagie, all of Marshall and Randy (Cheri), of Green Bay, WI; 26 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Bertha Louwagie, of Marshall; brothers, Jules (Marlene) Noyes and Joe (Millie) Noyes, all of Marshall and Ray (Colleen) Noyes, of Ghent; sister-in-laws, Mary Noyes and Annie Verly and brother-in-law, Maurice Louwagie, all of Marshall; and many other relatives.
Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leon on April 1, 1989; parents, Henry and Marie Noyes; brother, Emil Noyes; and twin grandsons, John and Jeff Louwagie.
Alice loved playing cards, telling jokes, spending the weekends at the lake, volunteering at the Auxiliary Thrift and Gift Shop, fishing, and in her younger days, square dancing and dancing to Blacky and the Blue Boys.
Alice was a faithful member of St. Clotilde Catholic Church in Green Valley. She was active in Council of Catholic Women, Catholic Daughters and Weiner Memorial Auxiliary.
