Alvin Harold Evers was born October 12, 1936, on a farm in Bondin Township, Minnesota, to Otto and Louise (Danneman) Evers. He was a 1954 graduate of Fulda High School. After high school, Al attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, for two years. In January of 1957, he entered the U.S. Army and spent 21 months in active duty. Then like his father before him, Al started farming, but injured his back which caused him to change careers. Shortly after, Al started as an agent with Farm Bureau Insurance. He was an agent as well as an agency manager and worked for Farm Bureau for 46 years.

Al married the love of his life, Lois McDowell in Hendricks, Minnesota, in June of 1962. They made their home in Worthington, Fulda, Marshall, Stillwater, and then back to Marshall in 1981. They lived in the same house for almost 40 years.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Lois Evers; his two daughters, Roxanne (Kevin) Shoeberg of Stillwater, Heather (Douglas) Yost of Shoreview; six grandchildren, Alexander (Samantha) Shoeberg, Jacqueline Shoeberg, Gavin Yost, Gabrielle Yost, Genevieve Yost; sister, Leona Dierks of Fulda; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Alfred; and longtime friend, Wally Stucke.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
His memory and legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with. His jolly laugh, kind heart and endless stories (jokes) will be remembered and cherished by many.

We would especially like to thank the staff at Morningside Nursing Home for all the wonderful care they gave to Al in his final weeks. They were truly a blessing and we thank them so much.
