Marshall: Bernadette M. Brandt, age 86, of Marshall , passed away suddenly at her residence on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 3rd at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a 4:00 P.M. rosary and 7:00 P.M. prayer service Friday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to the mass. Condolence may be sent to www.hamiltonfh.com.

Bernadette Marie was born on March 3, 1925 in Ghent to parents Omar and Theresa (Boerboom) Kesteloot. She was baptized, received First Communion and confirmed at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Ghent. On February 13, 1946, Bernadettte was united in marriage to James Brandt. To this union six children were born; namely, Bonnie, Elizabeth, Brenda, Randy, Cindy and Bruce. They farmed in Sodus Township . Bernadette enjoyed making afghans, crocheting (baby blankets) and doing ceramics. James passed away in 1985 and Bernadette joined James in death on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. She had reached the age of 86 years, 11 months and 25 days. She is survived by five of her children, Bonnie (and Alex) Horning of Wichita, KS, Elizabeth Brandt of Minneapolis, MN, Brenda Petry of Wichita, KS, Randy Brandt of Marshall, and Cindy (and Richard) Shonk of Kingman, KS; eight grandchildren, Wendy, Kevin, Ann, Troy, Denver, Dixie, John and Christopher; and great grandchildren; brother, Greg (and Judy) Kesteloot of Marshall; sister-in-law, Carol Kesteloot of Marshall; also many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; son, Bruce; grandson, Brad; four brothers, John, Joe, Harry and Victor; and two sisters, Marie and Cecilia. Bernadette was a faithful member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. Blessed be the memory of Bernadette Brandt
