Marshall: Bruce E. Prairie, age 66, of Marshall, passed away suddenly at his residence on Thursday, December 13, 2012. Celebration of Bruce's life will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 at Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday morning.
Bruce Edward was born on March 28, 1946 to Harry Prairie and Ruby (Green) Cichos in Marshall. He graduated from Marshall High School and attended St. Cloud University. Bruce served in the Air Force for a short time.
On March 1, 1969, Bruce was united in marriage to Lynette Coil in Canby. After the couple’s marriage, Bruce worked as retail manager for Pamida and Alco in the 70s and 80s. He was sales manager at Bot Appliance for 15 years and then as a security guard for Securitas Security and Schwans. Bruce retired in 2011.
Bruce passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, December 13, 2012. He had reached the age of 66 years, 8 months and 16 days.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lynette, of Marshall; daughter, Michelle (and Steve) Kvernmo, from Dundas; son, Jason (and Leslie), of Rochester; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Kylie Kvernmo, of Dundas; his mother, Ruby, of Tyler; mother-in-law, Fern Coil, of Canby; and two brothers, John (and Bonnie) of Willmar and Michael, of Tyler.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Harry; grandfather and grandmother, Hawley and Lydia Green; and two uncles, Frank and Virgil Green.
Bruce’s enjoyments in life included Civil War and Native American History, reading, farming, antiques and spending time with his family and grandkids.
