Cleo Margaret Danielson

Cleo Danielson, age 77, of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall, Minnesota. A walk-through visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2021, also at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., on Friday May 21, 2021.

Cleo Margaret Solem was born on January 10, 1944, to Lester and Gladys (Lundeen) Solem in Slayton, Minnesota. The family lived in Hadley, Minnesota, and Cleo attended Hadley schools until the school merged with Slayton. She was a 1962 graduate of Slayton High School.

In 1964, Cleo was united in marriage to Ronald Engler in Hadley, Minnesota and to this union two children were born: Daniel and Lori. In 1975, Cleo was united in marriage to Marlin Beers in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and one daughter was born to this union: Sarah. On November 4, 1988, Cleo was united in marriage to Duane Danielson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and the blended family made their home in Hanley Falls where they have spent the last 33 years.

Cleo was a very loving farm wife to Duane, always making sure he had a warm meal to end his day. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and was often found doing yardwork, mowing, spending time in her gardening, and pampering her farm cats. However, the lights of her life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She would always make it known how much she adored them, and they would never leave her presence without an outpouring feeling of love. Cleo also enjoyed family gathers and camping. She never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Cleo always had a positive outlook on life and often used humor as a coping mechanism to get through the rough patches in life. She will be remembered as a loving, sweet, and bright light.

Cleo Margaret Danielson passed away on April 20, 2021, at the age of 77 years, 3 months, and 10 days. Blessed be her memory.

Cleo is survived by her husband, Duane Danielson of Hanley Falls; children, Daniel (Joyce) Engler of Sparks, NV, Lori (Jamey) Penoyer of Brainerd, Sarah Beers of Little Falls; grandchildren, Alexander Engler, Gregory Engler, Shantel (Dan) Williams, Shane (Holly) Penoyer, Sherri (Ben) Armstrong, Greg Engelkes, Delika Monsen; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Hunter, Maisie, Peyton, Harper; brother, Brian Solem of Saint Paul; brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Gladys Solem.
