Darlene Jasperson, age 80, of Marshall, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Balaton, Minnesota. Memorial Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Marshall. Interment will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday at the church.
Darlene Ann Stiernagle was born on April 21, 1938, in Waseca, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Walter and Marie (Wallace) Stiernagle. Darlene was baptized and confirmed in her youth and attended school in Waseca, graduating from high school and then began working in Waseca.
On February 18, 1966, Darlene was united in marriage to Lee Jasperson in Waseca. The couple moved to Marshall in 1962 as they raised 4 children. Darlene worked as a cook her whole life, a Mike’s Café, Club 59, and local daycare providers.
Darlene was a level-headed and pragmatic woman. Her enjoyments in life included embroidery, fishing and gardening.
Darlene Jasperson died in Balaton, Minnesota, on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. She had reached the age of 80 years, 7 months, and 21 days. Blessed be her memory.
Darlene is survived by her son, JP Jasperson of Chesapeake, VA; daughters-in-law, Nancy Steed-Warren of Utah, Deb Haney-Paradis of Marshall; 9 grandchildren, Kurt, Jenny (Denver), Savannah, Karen (Chris), Ryanne, Jamison, Mike (Dana) Brett (Amanda), Chris (Kenzie); 13 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Mary, Marlene, Karen, Nancy, Yvonne; 2 brothers, Jim, Rick; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lee Jasperson; sons, Kenny Jasperson, Jerry Jasperson; brother, Emmitt Stiernagle; and sister, Judy Marks.
