David Scott Dubbeldee

David Scott Dubbeldee, age 46, of Russell, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 18, 2015, at the ACMC clinic in Marshall. Memorial services are Friday, May 22, 2015, 10:30 AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Interment will be in the Russell City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, May 21, 2015, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. A CCW rosary will be at 4:00 PM and a prayer service is scheduled for 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the service, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, on Friday at the church.

David Scott Dubbeldee was born on January 7, 1969 in Marshall, Minnesota. He was the son of Leon and Corrine (Skorczewski) Dubbeldee. David was baptized, received first communion, and was confirmed at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall, Minnesota. He grew up in Lynd and attended school in Russell and Lynd before graduating with the Marshall High School class of 1987. David also served in the National Guard.

In 1996, David was married to Jodi Crowley. They couple spent 11 years together and raised 2 children: Dylan and Taylor. David lived in Lynd and Cottonwood before settling in Russell where he was currently serving on the city council. David worked construction and spent time with ADM, Precision Auto Body, Reinhart Foods, and the grain elevator in Cottonwood. He was currently working for A & C Excavating in Marshall.

David spent 10 years with the Cottonwood volunteer Fire Department. He loved his work and never tired of working with cars or motorcycles; He had his own custom auto sales which was just starting up. His other enjoyments in life included trips to Florida, wine tasting, camping, fishing, hunting, and grilling. He will be dearly missed.

David died on Monday, May 18, 2015, in Marshall, Minnesota at the age of 46 years, 4 months and 11 days. Blessed be his memory.

David is survived by his children, Dylan Dubbeldee of Alexandria, MN, Taylor Dubbeldee of Cottonwood, MN; significant other, Machelle Nolt of Slayton, MN; mother, Corrine Dubbeldee of Marshall, MN; siblings, Curt (and Carmen) Dubbeldee of Marshall, MN, Brenda (and Mike Raedel) Dubbeldee of Russell, MN, Kerry Dubbeldee of Russell, MN; step-grandpa, Leonard Lanoue of Tracy, MN; mother of his children, Jodi Dubbeldee of Cottonwood, MN; nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ray & Rosella Dubbeldee; maternal grandparents, Harry & Bernice Skorczewski; father, Leon Dubbeldee; and uncle, Dick Skorczewski.

The family invites attendees to the Carlin Hall for a luncheon following mass. Following the luncheon, burial will be at 1:00 PM at the Russell City Cemetery.
