Dawn M. Boogaard, age 49, of Lynd, died at the Avera McKennen Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Wednesday, Jaunary 2, 2008 following a motor vehicle accident . Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Marshall. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, from 5 to 8 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services on Saturday, at the church. Burial will be in the Lynd City Cemetery.
Dawn Marie Ryker was born April 8, 1958 in Tyler, Minnesota to James and Marlys (Nelson) Ryker. She was baptized at the Ruthton Methodist Church and confirmed in the Christian faith. She attended Ruthton schools and graduated from Ruthton High School in 1976. Dawn then worked for a daycare in Marshall and then for 7 years as a housekeeper and Weiner Memorial Hospital and 4 years at the Best Western Hospital in Marshall.
On January 8, 1988, she was united in marriage to Danny Boogaard in Marshall. After their marriage they resided in Marshall for 2 years before moving to Lynd in 1990. Dawn was then a stay-at-home caretaker of the house and animals.
Dawn was a member of an online best friends organization. Other enjoyments included the computer, drawing, camping, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Danny of Lynd; children, Nadine (and Steven) Meyer of Montevideo, Daniel Boogaard of Lynd, Bryan (and Mandy) Boogaard of Winsted, and Cory (and Brandi) Boogaard of Albertville; grandchildren, Daymien Boogaard, Braden Boogaard, and Jase Laxen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marlys.
