ELLA CLARICE WILSON
Marshall- Ella Wilson, age 96, of Marshall, died on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, September 1st. one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ella Clarice Lee, the daughter of Samuel and Minnie (Jacobson) Lee was born on May 23, 1914 at Fairfax, MN. She attended a country school near her home. On September 17, 1938 she was united in marriage to Lyle Wilson in Franklin, MN. Ella and Lyle moved to Marshall in 1941. Ella worked for Red Owl Food Store and J.C. Penneys. When Lyle had some health issues, they moved to Apache Junction, AZ where Ella lived until 1992. She then moved back to Marshall. Lyle passed away on December 14, 1986.
The love of Ella's life was family and socializing with them and her many friends. Other enjoyments were square dancing, playing cards, completing crossword puzzles, sewing and quilting. Ella was a caregiver and loved being a tour guide. She was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Ella is survived by her three children, David (Mary) Wilson of Brooklyn Park, Carolyn (Roger) Marks of Marshall and Tom (Dorothy) Wilson of New Ulm; seven grandchildren: Craig, Kimberly, Roger III, Bradley, Michael, Sara and Thomas; 12 great-grandchildren: Jacob, Abby, Joe, Mikaela, Reid, Lindsey, Roger IV, Danielle, Savannah, Callie, Colbie and Katharine; one sister, Mabelle Lerstad of Mesa, AZ and brother, Gordon Lee of Fairfax, MN; also many other relatives and friends.
Ella was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Eldred, Art, Melvin, Oscar, Elmer and Lloyd (in fancy)and sister, Selma Rosvold.
Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church, Central Minnesota Senior Care or the Prairie Home Hospice.
