Esmidio Vega, age 19, of Minneota, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Ghent, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 17, 2014, 2:00 PM at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota with interment following in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service, at the church.
Esmidio Urbina Vega was born on December 23, 1994, in Temple, Texas. His father was John Henry Vega, he was raised by his mother and step-father, Griselda and Jose Juan Vera. Esmidio was baptized as an infant at the Catholic Church in Rosebud, Texas. He attended school at Olivia BOLD elementary in Olivia, MN, and then Marshall schools. He graduated from high school last year in Red Wing, Wisconsin, before returning to Minneota.
Esmidio and Stephanie met in 2009. The couple were blessed with 2 children, and have another soon to be born.
Esmidio was a loving, honest, and fun-loving person with a big heart and always had a sense of humor. He was the first to give out a hug and was a great family man. He loved his children and family. His other enjoyments in life included watching the Green Bay Packers, dogs and other animals, cars, clowns, and videogames. He will be missed by many.
Esmidio died on Sunday, October 12, 2014, at the age of 19 years, 9 months and 19 days.
Esmidio is survived by his parents, Griselda (Jose) Vera of Minneota, John Henry Vega of Pearshall, TX; spouse, Stephanie Amador of Minneota; children, Aliyah Faith Amador, Rosalee Lynn Vega, Christina Amora Vega (Due in December); siblings, Connie Lynn Vega, Alexandra Martinez, Esmeralda Vera, Lilliana Vera, Lucia Vera; grandparents, Maria C. (Leslie Cherry) Martinez of Olivia, Sara (Jose) Vera of Rosebud, TX; great-grandparents, Lucia Galicia of Asherton, TX, Trinidad and Maria Paz Mora of Comonfort, Mexico; nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
Esmidio is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Melton Alvarado, Lee Galicia, Soledad Zierra, Alfonzo Vera; step-grandpa, Ramon P. Davila; aunt, Julie Ann Martinez, and cousin, Juan Miguel Balderas.
