Frederick "Fred" Landgraff, age 74, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Monday, July 8, 2024, at his residence in Marshall. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Living Word Lutheran Church in Marshall. Visitation is prior to his celebration, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024, also at the church. Private Interment previously took place in the Marshall Cemetery.
Frederick Dean Landgraff was born on September 17, 1949, in New Ulm, Minnesota. He was one of seven children born to Clarence and Gloria Mae-Vonne "Mae" (Thompson) Landgraff. Fred was baptized as an infant and confirmed in his youth in the Christian faith. He attended grade school in McIntosh, Minnesota, and then agricultural school in Crookston, Minnesota. Fred spent some time in the Army National Guard and also went to college where he studied to be an auctioneer.
Fred was united in marriage to Renee Edmunds on January 23, 1971, at the Central Lutheran Church in Fairfax, Minnesota. Couple made their home in Sleepy Eye before moving to Minneota in 1988 and then moved again to Marshall in 1995. Fred and Renee had two children and spent 43 years of marriage together prior to divorcing in 2014.
Fred did some farming early on before finding work for Arbie Scooter Feeds, the Minneota Elevator, and the Stine Seed Company prior to his retirement in 2016. His enjoyments in life included watching tractor pulls and going to auctions where he could relive "the chant." Fred was dedicated to church events and active in Bible studies at Living Word Lutheran Church. He reconfirmed his faith in 2022.
Fred Landgraff died on Monday, July 8, 2024, at his residence in Marshall, Minnesota. He had reached the age of 74 years, 9 months, and 21 days. Blessed be his memory.
He is survived by his children, Tami Doom of Lakeville, Tim (and Mindy) of Marshall; 3 grandchildren, Dalton, Ashlynn, Spencer; grand-pup, Shadow; 6 siblings, Margi (and David) Pfielschiefter of Greeley, CO, David (and Irene) Landgraff of Franklin, Ronnie Landgraff of Oslo, Brenda Rosch of Bemidji, Lorraine Schoen of West Chicago, IL, Diane Landgraff of New Ulm; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mae Landgraff, his ex-wife, Renee Landgraff, and a grand-pup, Maggie.
