Jean Marie Hanson

Marshall: Jean M. Hanson, age 80, of Marshall, passed away at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center on Sunday, June 30, 2013.
Mass Of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
Jean Marie was born June 17, 1933 in Watertown, SD to parents Raymond and Grace (Hupf) Riley. She was baptized, First Communion and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. She graduated in 1951 from the Watertown High School. She went on to the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD.
She was working as a social worker when she met Roger Hanson. They were married on June 8, 1963 at Immaculate Conception and to this union a daughter, Debra was born. She and her family lived in Redfield, Lacrosse, WI, Eau Claire, WI and moved to Marshall where she worked for Century 21 and then Whitcomb Real Estate. She retired in 2004.
The love of her life was her family, especially her grandchildren. Her other enjoyments included playing cards, camping, playing Bingo at Boulder Estates and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and Twins.
She is survived by her husband, Roger of Marshall; daughter, Debra (and Paul) Louwagie of Slayton; three grandchildren, Jason (and Christy) Louwagie of Plano,TX, Kellie (and fiancé, Ryan Clancy) Louwagie of Sioux Falls and Kristin Louwagie of Mankato; sister, Joan Whittle of Watertown, SD; brother, Amborse (and Marilyn) Riley of Watertown, SD; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in by her parents and a sister, Rosemarie Lantsberger.
Jean was a faithful member of Holy Redeemer at the time of her death.
