Georgena “Jeannie” Ann Landuyt was born on October 19, 1939, in Taunton, Minnesota. She was the daughter of George and Erma (Langsweirdt) Landuyt. Jeannie was baptized as an infant, confirmed in her youth, and received her first communion at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. She attended school in Lynd before graduating from Minneota High School in 1958.

On February 7, 1959 Jeannie was united in marriage to David Maeyaert in Minneota. The couple farmed by Marshall and was blessed with three children: Dean, Diane, and Dori. In addition to being a loving homemaker and devoted mother, Jeannie loved her ceramics work. She loved her family and always put them first. Her other enjoyments in life included time spent at Lake Cochrane in South Dakota, camping, attending many events for her children and grandchildren, and spending time with the family she so dearly loved.

Jeannie Smith entered her heavenly home on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the age of 75 years, 3 months, and 10 days. Blessed be her memory.
