JoLynn Speidel, age 66, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at her home in Marshall, Minnesota. Memorial services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service, from Noon – 2:00 p.m., on Thursday at the Hamilton Funeral Home.
JoLynn Kathy Bowerman was born on March 11, 1952, in Yakima, Washington to Delbert and Sarajane (Pitz) Bowerman. She grew up in Tacoma, Washington, before moving with her family at age 13. She attended High School in Watertown, South Dakota, graduating with the class of 1970. JoLynn then worked in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
JoLynn was united in marriage to Kevin Speidel on April 19, 1973, in Webster, South Dakota. She was a loving wife and homemaker while raising her 2 children. Kevin’s Air Force career kept the family on the move: Topeka, KS, Mountain Home, ID, Duluth, MN, Grand Forks, ND, Bitburg, Germany, and Langley, VA, before living in Osakis, MN, and finally Marshall in 1991.
JoLynn was a strong woman, very much a selfless servant to others. She was a loving and kind soul who was always on the go. She loved her family and was active with her grandchildren. Her other enjoyments in life included gardening, fishing, and playing the guitar, Skip-Bo, and Cribbage.
JoLynn was called home to heaven on June 3, 2018, in Marshall, Minnesota, at the age of 66 years, 2 month, and 23 days. Blessed be her memory.
JoLynn is survived by her husband, Kevin of Marshall; 2 children, Kris (Kayla) Speidel of Marshall, Trina Morgan (Jeff Hiepler) of Marshall; 5 grandchildren, Maggie Wolverton of St. Louis, MO, Mackenzie Morgan of Marshall, Rayne Speidel of Marshall, Deacon Morgan of Marshall, Kieron Speidel of Marshall; siblings, Sherry Spaar of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Wayne (Debbie) Bowerman of Simpsonville, SC; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert Bowerman and Sarajane Moore; and brother, Gary Bowerman.
