Josh Patrick O'Donnell was born February 28, 1981, in Le Sueur, Minnesota, to parents John and Donna (Skyberg) O'Donnell. In grade school the family moved near Luverne, Minnesota, and he was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in his youth and was later confirmed there as well. Josh attended school in Luverne, graduating with the high school class of 1999. Josh met Amanda Johnson through some mutual friends and some years later, after connecting at a concert, the couple was married. Vows were exchanged on September 17, 2005, at the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Reading, Minnesota. The couple made their home first in Marshall and later Milroy, where they currently reside. Josh and Amanda had three children together: Mason, Taylor, and Lauren.

Josh was a quiet and lovable person who was relatable and caring. He had a great sense of humor but didn't always show it right away. Josh drove truck for Viessman Trucking for many years and also enjoyed driving the school bus. He was intentional to make most of his kids’ events, even when difficult to do so. Josh's other enjoyments included playing video games, anything baseball, watching football, camping, and stories told around the campfire. He was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church and appreciated all the support he received from the community.

Josh O'Donnell went to his heavenly home on February 11, 2022, at the age of 40 years, 11 months, and 14 days. Blessed be his memory.

Josh is survived by his wife of 16 years, Amanda O'Donnell of Milroy; children, Mason, Taylor, and Lauren O'Donnell of Milroy; parents, Donna O'Donnell of Brandon, SD, John O'Donnell of Rock Rapids, IA; parents-in-law, Randy and Carol Johnson of Rushmore; 4 siblings, Jeremy (and Nikki) O'Donnell of Windom, Jeff (and Kate) O'Donnell of Rochester, Anna (and Kyle) O'Donnell-Eastman of Dundas, Jake (and Angie) O'Donnell of Rochester; sister-in-law, Jenny (and Scott) Kalas of Slayton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
