Marshall: Judith “Judy” A. Arzdorf, age 69, of Marshall, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with a luncheon following at the Prairie Event Center. Judith “Judy” Ann was born on April 26, 1942 in Lyon County, Minnesota to Norbert J. and Elizabeth “Bette” (DeSmet) Lanners. She was baptized, received First Communion and Confirmed at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Minneota. She graduated from the Minneota High School and went on to attend beauty school (cosmetology) in Sioux Falls. On October 23, 1965, Judy was united in marriage to Ailried “Ozzie” Arzdorf at St Edwards Church. They lived in Sioux City, Iowa until deciding to move back to Marshall in 1977 so they could be closer to their family. Judy worked for Schwans as a lead on a production line at the sandwich plant and then a customer service representative at the call center before retiring in 2008. Judy liked to go auctioning. She collected cookbooks, beautiful teacups, and porcelain birds. She had a passion for knitting, crocheting and most recently bird watching. The love of her life was spending time with her family and watching each and everyone of them grow throughout the years. Her friends were a very special part of her life and she treasured them all. Judy passed away at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. She had reached the age of 69 years, 1 month and 12 days. She is survived by her husband, Ozzie of Marshall; four children, Bryan Arzdorf and Mary Kay Thomas of Marshall, Pamela (Michael) Hanson of Weldon Spring, MO, David Arzdorf and Sandy Young of Colorado Springs, CO and Jennifer Arzdorf of Russell; ten grandchildren, Andrea Weniger, Alyssa McDowell, Addison Arzdorf, Alek Arzdorf, Gavin Arzdorf, Tori Arzdorf, Ethon Hernadez, Eric Hanson, Jason Arzdorf and Kyle Hanson; five brothers, John “Jack” (Wilma) Lanners of Marshall, James "Jim" (Judy) Lanners of Minneota, Rodney (Betty) Lanners of Kandiyohi, Robert “Bob” Lanners of Minneota and Joseph (Penny) Lanners of Madison, SD; also many other relatives and friends.
