Kathy Lynne Sprik was born February 25, 1957, to Stan and Leona (Walburg) Sprik in Worthington, Minnesota. She was baptized at the Christian Reformed Church in Ocheyedan, IA then made her profession of faith at the Christian Reformed Church in Worthington. Kathy graduated from Worthington Christian School, and then Southwest Christian High School in 1975. She furthered her education for 3 years at Sioux Valley nursing school and went on to work as a Registered Nurse at Worthington Regional Hospital.

Kathy was united in marriage to Curt DeVries on June 9, 1978, at the Worthington Christian Reformed Church. The couple made their home in Worthington and were blessed with two sons, Brian and Michael. A back injury forced her to change careers as she began to help Curt in the office at Crystal Glass and as a Medication Nurse at Prairie House in Worthington. Many also knew Kathy from her time with Mary Kay and participating in church groups, Bible studies, and Life Groups.

Kathy was a faithful member of Grace Community Church and her passion did not stop at the door. She loved music, had a strong faith which helped her through many medical challenges, read The Word daily, and always looked for an opportunity to share Christ with someone new. She truly cared for others and had a unique ability to connect to others on a deep and meaningful level.

Kathy died peacefully October 14, 2016 at home in Worthington, at the age of 59 years, 7 months, and 19 days. Blessed be her memory.
