Marshall: Katie Hancock, age 43, of rural Minneota, passed away at her residence on Monday, February 20, 2012. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 25th at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Katie Michelle was born on December 22, 1968 in Tracy, Minnesota to the parents who raised her, Howard and Elvera Vina (Foster) Greenman. She was baptized and confirmed at the Tracy Lutheran Church and graduated from the Tracy High School in 1987. She went on to attend Alexandria Vocational and Technical School and moved back to Tracy where she worked at the Christian Manor Nursing Home. Katie was united in marriage to John Hancock on August 24, 1991 at Tracy Lutheran Church. They moved to Marshall where she worked at SMSU and went on to attend Vo-Tech School in Sioux Falls specializing in American Sign Language interpreting. At the present time she was still employed at SMSU. Katie’s love of her life was her family and her pets. She also enjoyed the outdoors 4 wheeling, gardening, water and jet skiing, music, going on road trips and vacationing (especially Greece and Alaska). Katie passed away at her home in rural Minneota on Monday, February 20, 2012. She had reached the age of 43 years, 1 month and 27 days. She is survived by her husband, John of Minneota; parents, Howie and Elly Greenman of Tracy; sister, Julie (and Ken) Brewers (nephew, Daniel and niece, Sara) of Eagan; brother, David Greenman (nephew, Howard and niece, Dana) of Watertown, SD; John’s siblings, Linda (and Craig) Kleven, Mavis (and James) Bonczek, Merle (and Marie Marczak) Hancock , Sandy (and Jeff Harnack) Hancock, Lillian (and Stan) Sik, Darlene Kruger, Harold (and Corrine) Hancock, James Hancock; also many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Mildred Foster and David and Martha Greenman; and her beloved pets, Maggie, Daffy and Frisky. Blessed be the memory of Katie M. Hancock
