Kenneth Wilson, age 59, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Monday, October 2, 2023, in Marshall. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. followed by a brief Memory Share on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Interment will then be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be held just prior to his celebration, beginning at 1:00 p.m., also at the Hamilton Funeral Home.
Family requests that no flowers or plants be sent, instead please consider a memorial donation to the family for use at a future designation.
Kenneth Duane Wilson was born on November 28, 1963, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He Was baptized as an infant and confirmed in his youth in the Lutheran faith. Ken was raised by his mother, Barbara Wilson, in the Twin Cities before they moved when he was a teenager to Balaton, Minnesota, to be near family.
Ken graduated from Balaton High School in 1981 and continued his education at Normandale Community College and the vocational school in Pipestone, Minnesota, where he received a degree in Restaurant Management. Ken also spent a couple years working with his best friend, Bill, in North Dakota before working extensively around Marshall in several positions including HyVee, where he assisted the catering department, Heartland/Turkey Valley Farms, and most recently Universal Forest Products Minneota.
Ken was united in marriage to DeAnn Moseng-Watterson on January 5, 2008, at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. The couple made their home in Marshall where Ken was active in the Marshall Area Stage Performances and enjoyed comedic theater. His other enjoyments included watching wrestling, Minnesota Twins baseball, anything to do with cars, and his Marvel Comics collection which focused heavily on Spider-Man.
Ken Wilson died unexpectedly on October 2, 2023, in Marshall. He had reached the age of 59 years, 10 months, and 4 days. Blessed to be his memory.
He is survived by his wife, DeAnn Wilson of Marshall; 5 children, Josh Watterson (and fiancé, Helen Carson) of Anoka, Matthew (and Shawna) Sandman of Tracy, Casey (and Clarissa) Wilson of Grafton, ND, Trinity Wilson of Grafton, ND, Sa Bay Wah of Marshall; 7 grandchildren; a sister, Dawn (and Todd) VanHeuvelen of Lake Crystal; best friends, Bill & Francine Stahl of Marshall; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ken is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Wilson, and a very special aunt, Patricia Henderson.
