Kurt Caron, age 56, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Memorial Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2020, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Interment will be in the St. Clotilde Catholic Cemetery, Green Valley, Minnesota. Occupancy limits and social distancing must be observed throughout all services. Masks are required at all public indoor gatherings.
Kurt James Caron was born on December 17, 1963, to George and Berniel (Thompson) Caron in Marshall. He was raised in the Marshall area and attended Marshall School. Kurt worked various jobs before spending over 20 years with Harvey Buchholtz Construction. He then spent time at Hisken Construction, Space Development, and was most recently driving truck for Waste Management.
On February 2, 2002, Kurt was united in marriage to Kelly DeVries in Marshall. Along with gaining his lifetime companion, Kurt was also blessed with three stepchildren: Dustin, Mike, and Brittany. He loved his family, and they loved him. In his free time, Kurt enjoyed riding his Yamaha V-Star Classic motorcycle, spending time in his “man cave,” having backyard campfires, hanging out with his friends, tinkering on computers, and collecting Peanut M&M Dispensers. Kurt coined himself “a rock god,” as he enjoyed playing drums with the Excalibur Band.
Kurt Caron died on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He had reached the age of 56 years, 9 months, and 27 days. Blessed and eternal be his memory.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kelly Caron of Marshall; children, Dustin Krause of Marshall, Mike (Téa) Stillo of Tempe, AZ, Brittany (fiancé Dustin Johnson) Krause of Ruthton; granddaughter, Joann Krause of Cottonwood; mother, Berniel (Jim) Kiley of Florence, CO; three siblings, Glen (Lori) Caron of Estherville, IA, Mark Caron of Sioux Falls, SD, Terry Caron of Colorado Springs, CO; nieces, Heather Evans of Sioux Falls, SD, Tiffany (Kyle) Schmitz of Topeka, KS, Nicole (Kyle) Walker of Ankeny, IA; nephew, Eric (Krystal) Caron of Eden Prairie; other relatives and many friends.
Kurt was preceded in death by his father, George Caron, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
