Lawrence Dean Miller

Lawrence Miller, age 64, of Marshall, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 AM Friday, December 23, 2016, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Marshall. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, December 22, 2016, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. A prayer service is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, on Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall.

Lawrence Dean Miller was born on August 23, 1952, in Marshall, Minnesota. He was the son of Elmore and Marie (DeJaeger) Miller. Lawrence was baptized, received first communion, and was confirmed as an adult at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall, Minnesota. He attended Marshall schools before starting work on the Mink farm and lumber yard. He also worked many years at the Marshall Independent with their print services. Lawrence would later obtain his GED and worked for the last 15 years doing maintenance for Carr Properties in Marshall.

Lawrence was married to Patricia Newton and the couple had one child. He was then married to Darlene Hancock and they raised three children. He was also married to Virginia Tusa. He has been with his significant other, Janine Victor, for the past 16 years.

Lawrence was a hard-working man. He enjoyed watching wrestling, playing pool, softball, and bowling. He used to be active in Demo Derby and Stock Car Racing. Lawrence was a fan of John Denver and always enjoyed time spend outdoors, especially if hunting or fishing. He will be missed.

Lawrence passed away on Monday, December 19, in Marshall, Minnesota, at the age of 64 years, 3 months, and 26 days. Blessed be his memory.

Lawrence is survived by his significant other, Janine Victor of Marshall; children, Crystal Uvieta of Hull, IA, Jason Miller of Lake Wilson, Stacy Miller of Sioux Falls, SD, Travis Miller of Marshall, Brandon Victor of Canby, Joseph Bellecourt of Marshall, Emily Bellecourt of Marshall; 11 grandchildren, Damian, Miguel, Teresa, Jordan, Jaylen, Zach, Cody, Rachel, Riley, Skylar, Trevor; siblings, Francis (and Pat) Miller, Clarence Miller, Debbie (and Mike) Newton, Joanie (and Joel) Bicknese, Tom (and Deb) Stevens; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmore and Marie Miller; brothers, Ernie and James Miller; and sister, Carol Lanners.

The family invites attendees to the Carlin Hall for a luncheon following the committal service.
