He began his love of farming as a young boy and it became his career choice. He died on September 19, 2012 at his farm home after a year long battle with several health issues. He was united in marriage to Barbara Aune on January 15, 1966 in Minneota. He had a love of all things John Deere. He preferred his vehicles be Fords. He worked and played hard, with lots of socializing, dancing, and some travel too. He was proud of his Belgian heritage and traveled two times to see his aunts, uncles and cousins in Belgium . When relaxing he enjoyed his TV…especially Western movies. Lawrence enjoyed farming and cherished every moment with his family. He always loved giving his grandkids rides in his golf cart to see the farm animals and tractors. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Barbara, who shared his life for 46 years; sons Blayne of Minneota and Bryce of Ghent; daughters Brianna (Joe) St. Aubin of Wahpeton, North Dakota and Brooke (Seth) Verkinderen-Hilmoe of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; eight grandchildren, Danica, Brandon, Alex Verkinderen, Braylyn, Carter, Brenley St. Aubin, Holden, Loften Hilmoe; and great granddaughter Brielle Verkinderen; brother Donald (Betty) of Marshall; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, two aunts living in Belgium and many other relatives. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; and infant brother, Jules; and infant granddaughter, Mariah Verkinderen.
