Marshall: Leon R. Dubbeldee, age 67, of Marshall, formally of Lynd, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, October 6th at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Saint Dionysius Catholic Cemetery in Tyler.
Leon Ray was born on September 23, 1945 in Tyler, Minnesota to Ray and Rosella (Lutterman) Dubbeldee. He was baptized, received First Communion and confirmed at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler, and attended Ivanhoe High School.
On February 25, 1967, Leon was united in marriage to Corrine Skorczewski at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe. His first job was in tree trimming for Gary Jacobson. He worked in a battery factory in St. Paul, MN, He also worked in building construction for Dick Doom. Later he went into partnership with Allen Peterson of Russell. He was bartender/bouncer for Larry Heng in Lynd. He eventually became an independent contractor in Dubbeldee Construction. This last job was with Bob Carr until early retirement due to a train accident.
Leon passed away at his residence on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. He had reached the age of 67 years and 11 days.
He is survived by his wife, Corrine of Russell; four children, Curt (Carmen) of Marshall, Dave Dubbeldee of Russell, Brenda Dubbeldee of Russell and Kerry Dubbeldee of Lynd; nine grandchildren, Keith (Anna Rollag) Paradis, Scott Paradis, Garrett Dubbeldee, Dylan Dubbeldee, Rachel Dubbeldee, Chad Paradis, Taylor Dubbeldee, Victoria Dubbeldee and Tiffany Dubbeldee; step-father Leonard Lanoue of Tracy, MN; brother, Allen (Deb) Dubbeldee of South Haven, MN; sisters, Sharon (Jerry) Schuck of Carlsbad, CA, Darlene (Wayne) Burgess-Ayers of Lago Vista, TX, Marlys (Dave) Hebert of Sacramento, CA, and Mavis Fey of Edgerton, MN; three step-sisters, Barb Voss of Alexandria, MN, Julie (Brian) Gibson of Prior Lake, MN, and Beth (Brian) Radi of East Grand Forks, MN; three step-brothers, Dan (Elise) Lanoue and Greg (Karen) Lanoue both of Tracy MN, and Jeff (Lynelle) Lanoue of Alexandria, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Dubbeldee and Rosella Lanoue. Blessed be the memory of Leon Ray Dubbeldee.
