Linus Horstmann, age 72, or rural Marshall, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Avera McKennen Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Private family burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Online condolences may be submitted at www.hamiltonfh.com.
Linus Charles Horstmann was born on June 9, 1937 to parents, Carl and Viola (Plantz) Horstmann. Linus lived in the area his whole life. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1956 and went on to farm for many years. He was proud FFA member while in school. Linus always enjoyed visiting with people.
He is survived by his relatives, Vernon and Julie Nelson of Lynd, Val and Betty Nelson of Lynd, Crystal and Harvey Wood of LaPine, OR, Harvey and Dot Donaldson of Des Moines, Larry and Gina Donaldson of Des Moines, Richard Addison of Marshall, Jeff and Elaine Addison of New Market, MN, Jack Horstmann of Austin, Jackie Eike of Austin, Betty Ryan of Minneapolis, and Arlene Horstmann of Pontiac, MI; and other friends.
Linus was preceded in death by his parents.
