Lisa Lyn was born on May 25, 1973, to Terry and Dell (Southmayd) Peters in Britton, South Dakota. She grew up in Britton and participated in swim team, cheerleading, and loved spending time with friends. She graduated with the class of 1991 and went on to attend the University of South Dakota where she attained a degree in Education. While in Britton, attending preschool, she met Craig. Lisa and Craig grew up together and started dating in their sophomore year of high school. They married on May 21, 1994, and were incredibly dedicated to one another. In 2014, they renewed their vows. Their love was a testimony of faith for those around them.

Craig and Lisa were blessed with 2 beautiful girls, Morgan and Lindsey. She loved her daughters more than anything in the world. She dedicated many hours to their extracurricular activities. Whether attending volleyball games, dance competitions or marching band performances, Lisa was their #1 fan. She was a loving example to her girls, teaching them through actions how to be kind and generous of spirit, always reminding them to rise above in difficult situations. Lisa loved her family relentlessly. They enjoyed family trips to Disney, Hawaii, several cruises, and their annual national dance competition “dance-cation”.  They loved attending Minnesota Wild games and made watching shows like Survivor and Big Brother a family tradition. Until the very end, Lisa’s first priority was her family’s happiness, always above her own.

Lisa was an amazing kindergarten teacher. She started her teaching career in 1995 at Discovery Preschool, then taught ECFE classes in Minneota until 1999, when she accepted the kindergarten position at Minneota Public School. Lisa taught over 500 kids in her 24 years at Minneota. She poured into them daily, teaching the ABCs, 123s, and most importantly how to love others and love themselves. Lisa always went above and beyond with her students. She made sure to connect with them at a personal level, and dedicated her heart to each and every child as if they were her own. She participated as the MEMO Union Treasurer, assisted with the elementary yearbook, and taught Sunday School at Living Word. She was a mentor, a colleague, and a friend to those she encountered.

Lisa showed courage, bravery, and a fierce faith in God in the last years of her life. She faced many challenges and setbacks in her cancer journey and continued to show her selflessness and generosity to those around her. Lisa’s body may have been weak, but her spirit was strongly set on Jesus and His eternal hope. She faced cancer with humility, faith, and positivity. Her strength and will to fight was incredible and was evident until her passing. Lisa will be deeply missed by many.

Lisa Hart died, surrounded by her loving husband and daughters on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in Marshall, Minnesota. She had reached the age of 50 years, 11 months, and 12 days. Blessed be her memory.
