Marian B. Nord

Marshall: Marian B. Nord, age 95, of Marshall, passed away peacefully at Colonial Manor Care Center in Balaton on Saturday, August 2, 2014.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 9th at First United Methodist Church in Balaton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Balaton.
Marian Barbara was born to Christ E. and Mable (Anderson) Christensen on October 11, 1918 in Balaton, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Balaton United Methodist Church . She graduated from Balaton High School and went on to attend business school in Mankato.
Marian was united in marriage to Roy V. Nord on October 23, 1971 in Balaton. They lived in Cottage Grove, Balaton and in Marshall where she worked as an accountant for Gold and Carlson.
Her hobbies were reading, crocheting. knitting, quilting and playing cards. She also loved to travel. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Balaton and Marshall Area Adult Center.
Marian passed away peacefully at the Colonial Manor Care Center in Balaton on Saturday, August 2, 2014. She had reached the age of 95 years 9 months and 21 days.
She is the last of her immediate family to pass away and is survived by a sister-in-law, Barb Christensen, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends, especially Bernie Wichmann.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; brothers, Jerry and Kenneth; sister, June; and stepson, Michael Nord.
