Marvin Dwire, age 79, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at his home in Marshall. Memorial Services are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at First Lutheran Church in Marshall, Minnesota. A reception will follow at the church. Visitation will be held just before the service on Wednesday, from Noon until the time of his service at 1:00 p.m., also to be held at the church.
UPDATE: Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the Lakeside Cemetery in Balaton, Minnesota. Public is welcome to meet the family out there for the graveside service.
Marvin Leonard Dwire was born on September 20, 1943, in Marshall, Minnesota. He was the son of Lloyd and Rosa (Fix) Dwire. He grew up on a family farm near Lynd, Minnesota and was baptized in the Presbyterian Church in Russell, Minnesota. He attended school in Lynd and after high school, Marvin assisted his family on the farm.
On March 28, 1964, Marvin was united in marriage to Ms. Bonnie Dayland at the Presbyterian Church in Balaton, Minnesota. They made their home on his family farm place which he cared for and farmed until 1984. The couple then moved into Marshall and in 2018 they moved again, this time into Boulder Estates. Marvin and Bonnie shared over 58 years of marriage together and raised three children: Shirley, Daniel, and David.
Marvin was a hard-working man who enjoyed being outdoors. He spent some of his spare time working on vehicles, woodworking, playing Bingo, and gardening vegetables. His true passion was collecting tools and then using them to both create the new and fix the old.
Marvin Dwire died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at is home in Marshall. He had reached the age of 79 years, 3 months, and 1 day. Blessed be his memory.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Dwire of Marshall; children, Shirley (and Brent) Hall of Blaine, WA, Daniel (and Reena) Dwire of VA; 4 grandchildren, Leah, Tanya, Brent Jr., Christian; 5 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Crimson, Cayden, Sebastian, Eden; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Rosa Dwire; son, David Dwire; and brothers, Edwin and Harley Dwire.
