Mary Lensing, age 85, of Redwood Falls and formerly of Wabasso, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at the Seasons Hospice House in Redwood Falls. Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Thursday, December 15, 2016, at the Ashford Presbyterian Church in Milroy. Interment will follow in Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery, Milroy. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. A prayer service is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, on Thursday, at the Ashford Presbyterian Church in Milroy.

Mary Ella Gerner was born on October 5, 1931, in Fargo, North Dakota, to parents Harry and Ella (Nemec) Gerner. She grew up in Hitterdal, Minnesota. After graduating from High School there, Mary received her teaching certificate from Morehead State in 1951.
Mary was united in marriage to Chester Beebout on June 12, 1953 at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. The couple made their home in Milroy. On March 17, 1979, Mary was married to Cyril Lensing at Ashford Presbyterian Church in Milroy and the couple made their home in Wabasso. She went on to attend Mankato State University and Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall to complete her education degree. When Mary needed more assistance with her daily care, she moved into Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls.
Mary lived to teach. She loved her work and the children she was able to influence. Many will know her as the kindergarten teacher from Milroy Public Schools. She was also a member of the Red Hats, Granny Readers, and served as Treasurer of Ashford Presbyterian Church. Mary’s other enjoyments in life included traveling with family, playing cards, flower gardening, and reading.
Mary Lensing passed away in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 5 days. Blessed be her memory.
Mary is survived by her children, Dwight “Jon” (and Diana) Beebout of Underwood, Dan (and Cathy) Beebout of Milroy, Rosalie (and Charlie) Brown of Henderson, NV; son-in-law, Jeff Jensen of Sumner, WA; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (and Eldon) Langer of Alice, ND, Irma (and Isadore) Bran of Cortez, CO; many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ella (Nemec) Gerner; first husband, Chester Beebout; second husband, Cyril Lensing; and daughters, Jill Jensen and Susan Beebout.
