MaryJane “Honey” Peterson, age 84 of Marshall, formerly of Willmar, passed away at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall on Friday, November 14, 2008. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in the Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hamilton Funeral Home and continue on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
MaryJane “Honey” Johnson was born to Arnold and Mae (Ellingson) Johnson on October 6, 1924 in Willmar, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith, and graduated from the Willmar High School in 1942.
She was united in marriage to Roger William Peterson on September 19, 1947 in Minneapolis, and to this union two children were born, namely; Dean and Kay.
On December 2, 2004 MaryJane entered the Avera Morningside Heights Health Care Center in Marshall. She passed away on Friday, November 14, 2008. She had reached the age of 84 years, 1 month and 8 days.
She is survived by her two children, Dean (Doreen) of Marshall and Kay Peterson- Sobek of Klemme, IA; six grandchildren, Zachary Peterson of St. Meinrad, IN, Amanda (Sjon) Volden of Farmington, Eric (Leigha) Peterson of Rochester, Alex (Fiancee-Allison Krause) Peterson of Marshall, Venessa (Derek) DeBell of Sioux City, IA and Vaughn Peterson of Marshall; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roger in December 17, 1999; four brothers; one sister; and a son-in-law, Rollie Sobek.
MaryJane’s enjoyments in life were gardening, stamp collecting, keeping well kept home and yard.
