Mildred DeCramer, age 94, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the Minneota Manor Care Center in Minneota, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018, at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Ghent, Minnesota. Following a reception, Interment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2018, at the Hamilton Fuenral Home in Marshall. Rosary is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and a prayer service for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Mildred Rose Dierickx was born at home in Ghent, Minnesota, on March 10, 1924, to Edward and Mary (Van Keulen) Dierickx. As a child, Mildred loved to roller skate and ride her bike. After her schooling was completed, she went to work at the Post Office in Ghent, where she met George DeCramer. She also worked at Arnold Motors.
Mildred and George were married on April 23, 1946, and together they raised 5 children while operating a dairy farm just outside of Marshall.
After George died in 1983, Mildred moved to Marshall. She worked for many years at Ehlers and at J. C. Penney. She loved to garden and always had the loveliest row of hostas in her yard. Mildred was an avid baker and was known throughout the family for her pies, brownies and her Double Chocolate Chip Cookies. She loved to knit and sew – completing well over 100 quilts in her lifetime.
Mildred is survived by her 5 children, Joyce of Marshall, Donald (Barbara) of Rochester, John (Judy) of Marshall, Kenneth (Brenda) of Rochester, and Gregory (Patricia) of East Vermillion Lake, SD; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Gunderson of Vining, Minnesota.
She is predeceased by her husband, George; one infant granddaughter; her brother, Harold Dierickx; and her parents.
