Mya Pei, age 67, of Marshall, Minnesota, died August 10, 2022, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral Services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall, Minnesota. Interment will follow in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the funeral home.
Mya Pei was born on January 1, 1955, to Hnin Kwey in Zin Kue Village Thayawady City, Burma. In 1988, Mya Pei was united in marriage to Kywe Hei in Burma. Together, the couple had 4 children: Law Eh, Pay Pay, Htoo Wah, and Has Dah. In 2013, the family moved to the United States, first making their home in the Fort Worth, Texas area. Then they moved to Noel, Missouri, before finally settling into Marshall, Minnesota in November of 2015. The family soon found their community and Mya Pei found work as a farm hand at a turkey farm.
Mya Pei was a kind individual with a heart of gold. He always had a smile on his face and loved to do good deeds. Mya Pei loved to spend time with his family, especially his 6 grandchildren. He loved to cook and clean all while listening to the news or preaching.
Mya Pei died on August 10, 2022, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 67 years, 7 months, and 9 days. Blessed be his memory.
Mya Pei is survived by his 4 children, Law Eh of Marshall, Pay Pay of Marshall, Htoo Wah of Marshall, Has Dah of Marshall; 6 grandchildren; and numerous siblings.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Hnin Kwey, and his wife, Kywe Hei.
