Nancy Thedans, of Echo, Minnesota, passed away at home surround by family on Thursday, December 5, 2019, on her 72nd birthday. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2019, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Services will conclude with a time for sharing memories, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Nancy Elaine Popp was born to Henry and Sylvia Popp on December 5, 1947, in Illinois. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Tracy, Minnesota, where Nancy attended school. She graduated from high school there with the class of 1965. In the years to come, she traveled a lot and lived on the East Coast before returning to Southwest Minnesota about 40 years ago. For the last 20 years, Nancy called Echo, Minnesota, home.
Nancy worked various bookkeeping jobs and also served others at Walmart, Happy Chef, and Stan’s Catering and Café, among others. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was passionate about her cats and dogs. Nancy loved a good puzzle or hand of cards with her family.
Nancy Thedans died on her 72nd birthday, December 5, 2019, in Echo, Minnesota. Blessed be her memory.
She is survived by her Significant Other of over 30 years, Wayne Petit of Echo; daughter, Tammy (and Russ) Gilley of Wood Lake; grandchildren, Jasmine (and Brook) Hurt of Cottonwood, Jaden Thedans of Echo, David Gilley of Wood Lake; great-grandchildren, Hunter & Kyson Hurt; sister, JoAnn Greenfield of Tracy; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Sylvia Popp, and brother-in-law, Al Greenfield.
