Ordell J. Mortensbak

Marshall: Ordell J. Mortensbak, age 83, of Marshall, formerly of Cottonwood, passed away at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 28th at the First Lutheran Church in Marshall. Burial with full military honors will be at the National Cemetery in Fort Snelling. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a 6:00 P.M. prayer service Tuesday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday, one hour prior to the Ordell J. Mortensbak was born to Conrad and Luella (Peterson) Mortensbak on January 17, 1927 in Cottonwood, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at the Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. Graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1945 and entered the United States Army on June 5, 1945. He was a member of the 4th Division and was honorably discharged on November 24, 1946. After his discharge he went to work constructing grain elevators throughout the Midwest. He moved to Marshall area in 1962 and has lived in the Parkview Apartments for the past twenty-two years. Ordell passed away at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Sioux Falls on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. He had reached the age of 83 years, 3 months and 4 days.
