Pamela Meyer, age 67, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Friday, June 19, 2020, at the Avera McKennen Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Her family will host a memorial luncheon on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at AmericInn Hotel in Marshall, Minnesota. Family will be present from noon until 3:00 p.m. to receive visitors. Private interment with will be in the Lynd City Cemetery.
Pamela Ann Brown was born on January 18, 1953, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to William R. and Mildred (Thompson) Brown. Pamela was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended high school in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and Sunrise, Florida, graduating with the Minnetonka class of 1971. She then went on to attend college at Southwest State University, where she swam, played volleyball and tennis, and ultimately received education degrees in Business, Health, and physical education.
After college, she did her student teaching in Pipestone, Minnesota, and then later she taught in Lynd and Marshall. Pam also coached the Pintos Volleyball. She later worked for C&N Sales as a secretary and at Mid-Continent Cabinetry before retiring 13 years ago. Pamela was proud to be part of the “Ring of Honor” for SMSU Athletics.
Pamela and Harold were united in marriage on August 29, 1987 at St. Stephen’s Church in Marshall, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Lynd, Minnesota, and shared over 32 years of marriage together.
Pamela was an avid billiards player, and she enjoyed playing bingo. She was a Viking’s fan and was excited to attend a Viking’s game whenever she had the opportunity. She enjoyed watching sports and traveling, particularly going on cruises. She loved animals and cared for several pets over the years.
Pamela Meyer died on June 19, 2020, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 67 years, 5 months, and 1 day. Blessed be her memory.
Pamela is survived by her husband, Harold “Hal” Meyer, Jr. of Lynd; 5 step-children, Matthew Meyer of Thornton, CO, Kim (Dave) Rupp of Granite Falls, Lynne (Rick) Freezy of the Twin Cities, John (Kelly) Meyer of Belle Plaine, Terri Meyer of Milwaukee, WI; 12 grandchildren; Matthew Jr., Abby, Jeanine, James, Jordan, Josh, Jasmine, Jerrika, Kristian, Brynne, JP, Braxtyn; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces, Rebecca Olabode, Samantha Brown; nephew, Robert Klinkhammer; her caretaker, Julie Synhorst of Lynd, MN; two special dogs, Kaecee and Rosie; other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William R. and Mildred Brown, and brother, Robert Brown.
