Robert Milo Green was born on Jan 13, 1918 at home in Island Lake Township, Minnesota. He was the son of Wallace and Hulda (Stelter) Green. Robert was baptized as an infant in the Christian faith. He attended country school and then went on to help his parents on the farm.
On December 17, 1939, Robert was united in marriage to Shirley in Balaton. The couple made their home on the farm in Island Lake Township. Robert loved the farm and continued to help out well into his 80s. He moved to Heritage Point in December of 2013 and then to Morningside Heights about a month ago. Robert was a lifelong farmer and after retirement, he took part-time jobs as a hotel security guard in Hawaii while wintering there, and also driving a delivery van for Reinhart Foods. Robert and Shirley raised six children: Robert, Betty, Gary, Roger, Myron, and Daniel.
Robert was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church in Marshall. His enjoyments in life included traveling the world, crafting jewelry, night-lights, and tie tacks out of sea shells and other natural materials. He loved Diamond Head in Hawaii, climbing it at age 80 better than those half his age. He loved to walk the beaches of Hawaii where he and Shirley spent 28 winters. He had a great sense of humor, truly loved life and enjoyed the people in his life.
