Robert Reimler, age 95, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. Memorial Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023, at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of his service at 1:00 p.m.

Robert John Reimler was born on December 21, 1927, in Owatonna, Minnesota. He was the youngest of three children born to Edwin and Elizabeth (Klenzmann) Reimler. Bob was baptized and confirmed at the German Lutheran Church in Owatonna, Minnesota. After his family moved from Owatonna to Glencoe, Minnesota, Bob graduated from Glencoe High School in 1945. He furthered his education at Luther College, where he also continued to play basketball and football. He then transferred to Mankato State University, Mankato, Minnesota, to finish his undergraduate degree. Years later, Bob returned to school at North Dakota State University, where he graduated with a master’s degree in 1958.

Bob served in the United State Army in the 1950s, during the Korean War, and was a lifetime supporter of the Disabled American Veterans organization. During his subsequent employment as a math and science teacher in Marshall, Minnesota, Bob met a fellow teacher, Marlys Robson. On June 8, 1957, Bob and Marlys were united in marriage at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Marshall and raised three boys: John, Jim, and Tom.

Bob enjoyed coaching basketball and football while employed as a teacher. Bob was an active church member at First Lutheran Church in Marshall, serving as congregational president, usher and as a member of many committees during his years in the church. He enjoyed the company of others in Kiwanis, at the Senior Center, and various other gatherings with friends and neighbors. Bob and Marlys had extensive collections of depression glass and liked to buy and sell antiques together. Bob also enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.

Bob and Marlys moved into Boulder Estates in 2012 and spent many years continuing to enjoy time with each other, their children, their grandchildren, visitors, and the other Boulder residents. Bob had recently been receiving care at Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.

Robert Reimler died in Marshall, Minnesota on Saturday, February 4, 2023. He had reached the age of 95 years, 1 month, and 14 days. Blessed be his memory.

Bob is survived by his sons, John (Lisa) Reimler of Holmen, WI, James (Kathryn) Reimler of Yankton, SD, and Thomas (Susan Budig) Reimler of St. Louis Park, MN; 8 grandchildren, Benjamin, Darcy, Willa, Margaret, Sarah, Karen, Joseph, and Carl; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marlys Reimler; sister, Margaret (Ray) Volz; and brother, Charles (Geri) Reimler.
