Stanley Dennis Benson

Marshall: Stanley D. Benson, age 55, of rural Marshall, passed away at his residence on Friday, January 18, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 23rd at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a 7:30 P.M. prayer service Tuesday at the Hamilton Funeral Home and continue at the church on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.
Stanley Dennis was born on October 17, 1957 in Tracy, Minnesota to parents Dennis Dale and Elvera Rose (Donahue) Benson. He was baptized, received First Communion and confirmed at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Wanda. He grew up in the Wanda area and attended elementary school at St. Mathias. He went to Wabasso High School and finished his education in 1975 where he graduated from Balaton High School. Following his graduation he worked for Bayliner, Jonti Craft and Swifts.
In 1985, Stan was united in marriage to LeAnn Hibma in Ruthton. To this union two daughters were born, Ashly and Amanda. They resided in Marshall where Stan worked for Runnings. Stan was a great caregiver to his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His enjoyments in life were doing jigsaw puzzles, hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, Frisbee Golf, yard games and playing card games with family.
LeAnn passed away in 2007 and Stan joined her in death on Friday, January 18, 2013. He had reached the age of 55 years, 4 months and 1 day.
He is survived by his two daughters, Ashly and Amanda, both of Marshall; mother, Elvera of Balaton: fiancée, Lu Grengs of Marshall; eight siblings, Steve (Marlene) of Windom, Joe of Balaton, Mike (Julie) of Balaton, Scott of Balaton, Roger (Shannon) of Tracy, Paul (Destanie) of St Cloud, Kathy Loftus of Balaton and Lisa (Mark) Driessen of Marshall; also many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis; wife, LeAnn; a nephew; and his grandparents.
