Tobias Lee Gemelke

Tobias Gemelke, age 62, of Ghent, Minnesota, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. There are no services planned at this time.

Tobias "Tobi" Lee Gemelke was born on October 16, 1962, in Ghent, Minnesota to Robert and Jeanette (Dandurand) Gemelke. Tobi grew up with two sisters and four brothers while attending St. Eloi and Marshall School Districts. Following his education, he continued living in Ghent, working a variety of jobs over the years. He started his working career at the family roofing company for many years before becoming a talented cook at local establishments. Whatever the job, he took great pride in his accomplishments.

Tobi enjoyed fishing and had many tales to tell. He had a love for music ranging from the Beatles to Johnny Cash, even playing his guitar right along with them.  He will fondly be remembered by his nieces and nephews for the golf cart rides around the park. 

Everyone who knew him enjoyed Tobi's company. How could you not?! He was treated like "Norm" from the TV show "Cheers" down at the local bar. Everyone knew his name.

Tobias Lee Gemelke died peacefully in his favorite chair at home on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. He had reached the age of 62 years, 6 months, and 15 days. Blessed be his memory. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica (and Travis) Caviness; 3 grandsons, Charlie, Maximus, Harlie; siblings, Taryn Gemelke (and Brad Jackson), Ruby (and Fred) Strumm, Regan (and Shelly) Gemelke; great friend, Doug Zuidema; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Tobi was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jeannette Gemelke; brothers, Tim Gemelke, Terry Gemelke, Tom Gemelke; nephews, Jeremy Paxton, Matt Haas, and many other relatives and friends.
