Valerie "Val" Ann Nuy

Valerie “Val” Nuy, age 67, of Marshall, Minnesota, passed away on September 26, 2021, at the Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Interment will follow in the Marshall Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made out to Marshall Special Olympics or Marshall Animal Clinic Humane Society.

Valerie Ann McMaster was born on April 13, 1954, in Mitchell, South Dakota. She married Tom Nuy in 1975 and they resided in Marshall. They welcomed their first child, Terry, and second child, April. Val devoted her life advocating for people with disabilities on a state and legislative level as well as on a personal level. Val loved to sing and perform on occasion for gatherings. Val had a kind heart and a great sense of humor.

Val passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the Morningside Heights Care Center. She reached the age of 67 years, 5 months, and 13 days. Val made a difference.

Val is survived by her husband, Tom Nuy of Marshall; 2 children, Terry Nuy of Marshall, April Nuy of Sioux Falls, SD; 1 grandson, Bryson Goodroad of Sioux Falls, SD; 1 sister, Pat McMaster of Boise, ID; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Val is preceded in death by her mother, Darlene McMaster; and grandparents, Bell and Roy Wenande.
