Vivian Maxine Moberg

Vivian Moberg, age 90, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Friday, March 22, 2019, at Heritage Pointe Senior Living in Marshall, Minnesota surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2019, at Living Word Lutheran Church in Marshall. Interment will follow in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00–11:00 a.m., on Friday at the church.

Vivian Maxine Sandquist was born on February 13, 1929, to George and Ella (Miller) Sandquist in Balaton, Minnesota. She grew up in Marshall, graduating high school with the class of 1947. Viv was united in marriage to J. Harvey Moberg on July 31, 1949, at First Lutheran Church in Marshall.

The couple spent an amazing 69 years together and had 3 children: Douglas, James, and Barbara. After working at Wetherbee Hardware in Marshall, Viv cared for her children at home and then assisted in the family business - Moberg Oil Company and Moberg Transport, Inc. She was a proud member of First Lutheran Church, then St. Stephen Lutheran Church, and most recently, Living Word Lutheran Church. Viv and Harvey wintered in Maui for 38 years and were members of the Kumulani Chapel there.

Viv’s enjoyment in life included bowling, bridge clubs, gardening, tennis, golf, camping, Bible studies, and traveling with her husband. They visited 47 US States and explored 40+ countries together.

Viv is survived by her loving and devoted husband, J. Harvey Moberg of Marshall; 3 children, Doug Moberg of Spicer, Jim (Athena) Moberg of Kapulua, HI, Barb (Rick) Kompelien of Winona; 3 grandchildren, Alyssa Kompelien of Bonita Springs, FL, Nathan Kompelien of Ames, IA, Jordan (Christina) Petersen of Ontario, CA; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents and brother, Maurice (Ilene) Sandquist.

We celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who was dearly loved, will be infinitely missed, and forever remembered. Thank you, Lord, for the 90 years you blessed her with ♥️.
